Westchester County Medical Society is one of the oldest physician organizations in the United States. It was established in 1797 by 10 physicians in order to foster the common interests of its members and the general public. Over the last 210 years the Society has grown to approximately 1,800 members who work and/or live in Westchester County.
The purpose of WCMS is to advocate, educate and communicate to - and on behalf of - physicians. Additionally, WCMS plays a vital role in providing peer-to-peer opportunities, as well as a safety net for the medical profession. The strength of the Society lies in its committees, which work to create and implement programs and policies for the general welfare of the practicing physician, the public and the medical community as a whole.
